Park Information
While the falls are free, there is a permit required to park in the parking lot between the roadways off the freeway. The parking lot directly adjacent to the falls is free but small.
Before embarking on the adventure, knowing some park information is essential. Multnomah Falls is part of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, located just a 30-minute drive east of Portland, Oregon. While the area is open year-round, the best time to visit is during spring and early summer when the water flow is at its peak. It’s advisable to arrive early in the day to avoid crowds, as this popular attraction can get quite busy.
